The stall is that both notes are reactions. "Too corporate" and "doesn't land" describe how the drafts feel to her, but neither tells Claude what to change, so each new draft is a fresh guess at what she means, which is why four rounds produced no progress.

Take "too corporate" first. Ask what would have to be present for the tone to be right, and which part of the setup controls it. The answer is a specific tone target: perhaps "write as if a founder is talking to early customers, warm and direct, no jargon." That is an instruction, it names the tone and even the voice, and the next draft can be checked against it. "Doesn't land" is vaguer, so push on it: land for whom, and to what end? Translated, it might become "open with the single benefit our target customer cares about most, and end with one clear action for them to take." Now the missing lever, audience plus a call to action, is named.

The transformation is the whole skill. Two reactions that generated four wasted rounds became two instructions the next draft can actually satisfy, and can be measured against. Notice the test at work: before translation, she could not point at a lever, only a feeling; after translation, she can point at tone, audience, and action. That is the difference between feedback that guides and feedback that just registers displeasure.
