- Chat web search and the Research feature are two lookup mechanisms for planning inputs that post-date training. Web search inside chat suits quick, narrow lookups of current information; the Research feature suits deeper, multi-source synthesis when a plan needs broader current context. Synthesis drawn from either source can still introduce unverified claims, so the usual verification discipline applies regardless of the source.
