- A connector lets Claude reach an external system the user has explicitly authorized, such as searching Google Drive for a document or reading a relevant email in Gmail. The user manages what is accessible, and the connected set should stay deliberate and curated rather than connect-everything-by-default. A connector differs from uploaded knowledge because it reaches a live external system rather than a static document added to the Project.
