- Context is the background information Claude cannot know unless you supply it: the audience, the situation, prior decisions, and the source material. Claude sees only what is explicitly stated or provided through a connected source, and even a connected source exposes only the specific data it has been granted, not everything in that system. A missing context is the single most common cause of generic, unusable output.
